According to Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, safety comes after physiological needs. People feel in dire need to be safe and secure because of a fear that has been elicited perhaps at the onset of childhood. This fear may also have arisen from threats, harm or a visible danger. People who have experienced or witnessed violence may have even more intense fear. Violence can happen anytime of the day, whenever, wherever you are. It is therefore necessary that you have someone or something to help eliminate the presence of danger or better yet to prevent its presence of any form.
